Nearly 200 women from Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen and Pendleton counties celebrated the 75 th anniversary of the founding of The Kentucky Extension Homemakers Association on October 2, 2007. The celebration was part of the annual meeting of the Northern Kentucky chapter of the Association. The meeting was held at Receptions in Erlanger and was dedicated to Grant Countian Elaine Beighle who died earlier this year.
Boone County Judge Executive Gary Moore and State Representative Addia Wuchner delivered the welcome message and the keynote address was delivered by Heather French Henry. “Homemakers improve how our homes are run by showing us how to work more efficiently and effectively for the benefit of the individual and the family,” said Representative Wuchner who noted that the organization's work remains relevant today, with classes in such topics as investing in grandchildren, dealing with the media and buying nutritious food.
The Association is a statewide volunteer organization and part of the University of Kentucky's and Kentucky State University's off-campus information networks. Hilda Wright is president of the Northern Kentucky chapter.
